Kirsten - 7-11-08 - Dogs get a bath

Yesterday I did my list and then I went to the library. I was very upset because the holds I had requested had vanished. I was very upset. I was however, able to get Ben and Matt some books.

Yesterday I also went to the store with Jennifer. We got groceries we would need for the next few days. I was also able to get some stuff i needed.

I also gave Donald and Daisy baths. It's kind of funny, Donald's bath is usually much longer than Daisy and he doesn't mind it as much. He'll actually enter the bathroom (without being carried) while Daisy will run and hide. In general they are easy to give baths because they're tiny and their fur is pretty short.

Kirsten - The completion of the "Lord of the Rings" Trilogy

Yesterday I completed my list and then I went and worked on my homework.

When Jacob got home he took a long time trying to get his list done. Once his list was finally done, he helped me with dinner. We made spagetti and meatballs. The meatballs were a little weird. Oh well.

Then I watched "Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King." we finally finished the trilogy. Hurray! After that Dad and Jennifer went for a drive while I watched the dogs and fed them dinner.

Ben - 7-9-08

Yesterday, I got up. I worked on my list. I didn't finish for a while so it was pretty boring. I eventually decided to write my blog. I didn't finish until lunch.

I made a peanut butter and jelly sandwich. I watched TV with Kirsten for a while. It was mostly boring because Matt would not finish his list. Soon I decided to take the dogs for a walk.

I met two kind people playing tennis. I got to try tennis a bit. I also gathered their tennis balls for them. Afterwards, they gave me three balls. What nice people they were! I went to boy scouts. Then we went home and to bed.

Ben - Mystery Date - Mystery Blog #4 - Nim's Island

Yesterday I woke up. I helped watch for Jacob's bus. Afterwards I ate breakfast. It was mostly an ordinary day for me until later.

I did most of my list except blog and daily job. I played around with Matt until I ate lunch.

I then went with Matt and took the dogs for a walk. We came back, ate dinner and watched Nim's Island in the theaters. Then we went home and went to bed after taking care of my laundry and reading.

Ben - 7-2-08 - July 2

Yesterday I got up and did my list. I watched the dogs for quite a while. Kirsten and I were the only ones who finished their lists. I felt proud.

Kirsten, Matt and I all went to the store. We were going to make sugar cookies with frosting! We spent a couple of hours making them.

We then went to boy scouts. We got to play a lot of games. Afterwards we went to Dairy Queen. I got some root beer. At home I played chess with Dad and went to bed.

Jacob - 7-1-08 - Yesterday

Yesterday I woke up and I was still tired. So I went back to bed with my pet dogs: Donald and Daisy. I slept for a long time.

Matt - 6-29-08 - A hard start on my jobs

Yesterday I woke up and messed around until noon. At noon I got dressed, did my blog and did my jobs.

Then, I went to the park with Ben, John-Michael, and Donald. We stayed at the park for an hour and 30 mins. Next, I showered and ate dinner. Finally, I played in the toy closet and went to bed.

Kirsten - 6-29-08 - A Mess Around Day

Yesterday was a pretty slow day. Everyone took a while to get dressed and get their lists done. Because of that we couldn't go to Country Buffet. But maybe some other time.

Donald also decided to eat some chicken bones left over from some fried chicken. At first we thought it was Daisy (she can be a little piggy). It was evident that Donald was the one at fault. he threw up chicken bones last night. Thankfully, he is okay.

Last night my brothers were also turkies after Dad and Jennifer went out. Actually, it was just Ben. He certainly was a stinker.

Matt - 6-27-08 - Walking in the River

Yesterday I woke up, got dressed, did my jobs and ate breakfast. Then I read for 5 min.

Next, I went to the park with Ben, John-Michael and the puppies. After that, I came home and ate lunch and played with the legos.

Then, I went to the park again. At the park I walked through the river. Finally, I showered, ate dinner and went to bed.

Kirsten - 6-24-08 - Bath Day

Yesterday Donald and Daisy had baths. They were starting to get really stinky, so one could tell it was that time. I've also realized that Daisy is gaining some weight so I'm giving her a little less food and she is supposed to "work-out" more. that's why I took her for a run last night.

Aside from everyone being sent to bed early, that was really the only exciting thing of yesterday.

Kirsten - A Busy Day

Yesterday, Jennifer, Matt and I went and took a fecal sample from Donald to the vet. They tested it to see if he was sick. It seems he's alright. We have to modify his diet slightly.

We also went to Walgreens to pick up stuff for Father's Day. Then we got Taco Bell and Subway for lunch. At Subway I picked up an application because they're hiring.

later Jennifer and I went to King Soopers to pick up groceries. Then we went to Chipotle. After my brothers had gone to bed, I watched, "Your's, Mine and Ours". I hadn't ever seen that movie before. Regrettably I started watching right in the middle. But it was really cute.

Matt - Going to the Library (Saturday's post)

Yesterday I woke up, got dressed, ate breakfast and then I wrote my blog post. Next, I cleaned my room and swept and mopped the kitchen floor.

In the next 40 min. I was on my way to the library. At the library I checked out two books and I got a new library card. then I went home, ate lunch, ran with Donald, Daisy and Kirsten and then played with my remote toy car. After that I had dinner. Finally, I showered, got into PJ's played a tile game with Jennifer and Kirsten and I went to bed.

Kirsten - Saturday Blog Post

Yesterday I did my list and then I took Matt to the library. We checked out some books and then went home in tiime for lunch.

For lunch I made Ramen noodles.

After lunch. I went for a run with Donald, Daisy and Matt. I wore out Matt and the dogs. It was pretty funny.

For dinner I made this cassarole thing. After dinner Ben, Matt, Dad Jennifer and I played Rumikub.

That was really it.

Kirsten Blog - Friday

Yesterday I really didn't do too much. I cleaned the kitchen and finished my normal list. That also includes taking care of the dogs.

Speaking of the dogs, Donald decided to chew up a pink pen and it turned some of his fur pink. It was pretty funny looking but not an enjoyable mess to clean-up form the carpet. The pink seemed to keep coming back.

Finally, that night we had egg-burritos for dinner and afterwards I played Rubikub with Matt and Jennifer. Then I stayed up to finish the kitchen and practice the piano. Instead I spent a majority of the time I was going to invest in those other tasks watching Jennifer play World of Warcrat with Team-Speak2 on.

Yesterday we had cake and ice cream. We also tried to play Apples to Apples but everyone was too loud so the game ended early.

At the end of the day, I gave Donald and Daisy their monthly medicine. We also realized that Donald is sick as a dog, ha ha!

Finally, Jennifer gave me a piano lesson.

Yes, yes….it’s official….we’re NUTS!! - Jennifer (Mom)

Well somehow (quite a few months ago) Chris and I began to consider the possibility of getting a dog. So we researched all kinds of different breeds for temperament and personality, etc. and came up with the idea that a Corgi would be the best choice for our gang. Corgi’s breeding is very focused on temperament and at the same time they bond strongly and take a very protective stance regarding their “family”. We also figured we were in pretty good company choosing a Corgi because the Queen of England fancies them!

Once we made the decision for a Corgi, we started looking. To shorten the story a bit I’ll skip to this past weekend. After a lot of communication and MUCH deliberation we headed to a breeder on Sunday. The breeder just happened to be in Nebraska…yes that’s right Nebraska! So, after meeting the dogs we ended up driving home with not one but TWO Corgis. They are absolutely amazing dogs and cute as cute can be!

Tonight we had the “naming of the Corgis”: A girl just under a year old, sweet and VERY calm and a boy three months old and bright and bouncy. The little boy just LOVES to tell us about EVERYTHING that is happening. The girl is patient, loving and quiet.

The names everyone had were read and narrowed down to the following three options:

1. Mario and Princess Peach

2. Donald and Daisy

3. Zipper and Button

Then we had our vote. Seven of us were present and the vote came out as follows.

1. – 2 votes

2. – 6 votes

3. – 1 vote

I know, I know it adds up to more than 7. We think that is because Chris was sneaking extra votes in. An alternate theory proffered was that the dogs themselves voted. Hmmm….

So, there it is. Even discounting two votes off #2 it clearly won and Donald and Daisy were named. We think their names suit them nicely. Even those here that didn’t have Donald and Daisy as their first votes are coming around.

Jacob got his picture taken with the puppies before bed. Donald is on his lap and Daisy is next to him. He just loves them as do we all!
